Precision Room Cooling & CRAC Systems for Constant Environment Control

Unlike standard comfort air conditioning, critical IT environments require continuous, high-sensible cooling. Our Computer Room Air Conditioning (CRAC) and precision cooling systems are designed for 24/7/365 operation to maintain strict temperature and humidity tolerances. Featuring high sensible heat ratios (SHR) and modular configurations, these units ensure that sensitive servers, switches, and UPS battery banks operate within their recommended thermal ranges, preventing premature component degradation.

Close-Coupled and In-Row Cooling Solutions for High-Density Racks

Modern high-density server racks generate concentrated heat that traditional raised-floor systems struggle to address. Our close-coupled and in-row cooling units are placed directly within the equipment rows, pulling hot exhaust air from the hot aisle and delivering cold air directly to the intake of the servers. This close-coupled design eliminates hot and cold air mixing, drastically reduces bypass airflow, and adapts dynamically to real-time thermal loads using variable-speed fans.

Energy Efficiency, Smart Controls, and PUE Optimization

Energy consumption is a primary cost driver in data center operations. The cooling systems in our catalog utilize energy-efficient technologies—such as EC (Electronically Commutated) fans, variable-speed scroll compressors, and intelligent controllers. By integrating with hot or cold aisle containment setups and monitoring real-time environmental sensors, these thermal management systems adjust output to match actual IT heat loads, significantly lowering cooling power consumption and optimizing overall facility PUE.

Frequently Asked Questions

Comfort air conditioning is designed for human comfort, focusing on both cooling and removing large amounts of moisture (latent heat). Precision cooling systems are engineered for electronic equipment, which generates high dry heat (sensible heat) and very little moisture. Precision systems maintain high Sensible Heat Ratios (SHR), offer highly precise temperature (±1°C) and humidity (±5%) control, and are built to run continuously 365 days a year.

In-row cooling systems utilize a close-coupled cooling architecture, meaning the cooling unit is placed directly inside the server row. By minimizing the distance cold air must travel to reach the servers and preventing the mixing of hot exhaust and cold supply air, in-row systems require significantly less fan power and allow for higher return air temperatures, which greatly improves heat exchanger efficiency and lowers utility bills.

Most standard IT guidelines (such as ASHRAE) recommend maintaining server intake temperatures between 18°C and 27°C (64°F to 80°F). Crucially, the lifespan of backup UPS batteries (both lead-acid and lithium-ion) is highly sensitive to heat; operating batteries at ambient temperatures above 25°C (77°F) can severely accelerate chemical aging and cut battery life in half. Precision cooling ensures both servers and battery banks remain in their ideal temperature zones.
